Parth Srivastava is halfway through his first headline tour. It is called Kahaniyan, after one of his songs, and it opened at antiSOCIAL in Mumbai on 30 September. Next is The Piano Man in Delhi on 25 October, and it ends at The High Spirits in Pune on 4 November.

Vanmayi Productions is producing the tour and JRNY Entertainment manages it. Tickets are on District.

Early bird tickets for Mumbai and Pune were Rs 399, or Rs 699 for a couple. The Piano Man sells seats at Rs 499 and Rs 799, the cheaper ones on the balcony ledge with a partly blocked view.

The set

Each night is about 90 minutes with a live band. Srivastava has said the shows bring together both halves of his recorded work, the acoustic songs and the bigger, more produced ones.

His band: Rahul Bhandari on guitar, Akshat Khari on drums, Mithilesh Panchal on keys, Athreyo Mukherjee on bass and Vivek Dewangan on flute, with Nilesh Gupta on sound.

These are club rooms, not arenas. His following has been built one song at a time on streaming, and this is the first time it is being counted in person.

Law school and Shankar Mahadevan

He is from Kanpur and started music young. At 17 he performed alongside Shankar Mahadevan, which he says convinced him to make it a career. He then moved to Mumbai to study law and qualified as an advocate, writing and recording all the while.

Most of his releases have come out through T-Series: "Uljhan", "Jaane Jaan", "Tu Jaise Dariya", "Khoye Naina". The words move between Hindi and Punjabi, over pop arrangements that lean cinematic.

His team says "Uljhan" reached No. 7 on Spotify's India Viral chart. He was named Best Non-Film Artist of the Year 2024 at the RMIM Puraskar.

In his words

"I am very excited for the tour," he said, thanking fans and family. "I am looking forward to performing for my people in all the three cities in my first ever tour. I am very much excited, yet nervous."

He also said he hopes to make more songs and "soon deliver my artwork to the mainstream industry". It is not a line that usually turns up in a tour announcement.
