Jeonghan and Joshua of SEVENTEEN released DREAMSCAPE, their first mini album as the unit JxJ, on Monday 19 October at 6 pm KST, 2.30 pm in India. PLEDIS Entertainment put it out with a music video for the title track, "12 o'clock".

The album has seven songs and runs 19 minutes and 52 seconds. It is Joshua's first unit project since SEVENTEEN debuted, and Jeonghan's first album in some time, as he told the agency himself.

What is on it

"12 o'clock" is dance-rock built on 1970s and 1980s disco and funk, and follows the two of them chasing a dream between noon and midnight. The streaming listing also carries "Outside", "One plus one", and a solo track each: "Not personal" for Joshua and "Coloring" for Jeonghan.

Pledis described the album as moving between two kinds of dreams, the ones that arrive in sleep and the ones people work towards awake. The teaser for "12 o'clock", posted the day before release, had a train covered in what look like snake scales and a long green meadow.

In their words

In a Q&A provided by the agency, Jeonghan said the two of them had looked for an identity of their own, since SEVENTEEN have already put out many units.

"I hope listeners interpret what each song means in their own way and look for hidden metaphors," he said.

Joshua said he worked closely on production, and that not every song they made reached the final tracklist. "Listening from the first track to the last may feel like taking a journey with us," he said.

Both said they had changed how they sang for this record. Jeonghan tried a fuller tone. Joshua said he studied his own voice to find something more mature.

For CARAT in India

SEVENTEEN's fans, CARAT, have been able to stream the album on every major platform in India since release day. Physical copies were on pre-order from 23 September through Weverse Shop and other official retailers, and Pledis lists Weverse Shop first for international buyers.

A unit album usually comes with its own round of music show stages in Korea in the weeks after release, and Pledis has not announced any India date for JxJ or SEVENTEEN.
