Parikrama, REBLE, Shankuraj Konwar And Nishant Hagjer Headline Jorhat Music Festival On 14 November
The second Jorhat Music Festival is one stage and one night at Jorhat Stadium on Saturday, 14 November, with Assam's local acts still to be named.
Jorhat Stadium, on JB College Road in Upper Assam, hosts the second Jorhat Music Festival on Saturday, 14 November. The festival's website lists a single stage and a 4 pm start, with Parikrama, REBLE, Shankuraj Konwar and Nishant Hagjer as the named acts. Local bands from Assam will fill the rest of the bill, and the website says their names are still to come.
Parikrama, the Delhi rock band the festival lists as active since 1991, have a second Assam date that week. Three days after Jorhat they are due to open for Guns N' Roses in Guwahati on 17 November, a booking we covered in our practical guide to the two Guns N' Roses shows.
Who plays
REBLE is the hip-hop act from Shillong. Shankuraj Konwar is billed as Assamese and indie, and his songs "Ki Bedonate", "Joloprapat" and "Nakhyatra" are the ones the festival names. Nishant Hagjer is a metal drummer from Guwahati. The festival says he has spent 15 years on the metal circuit, played Download Festival and Bloodstock, and toured Europe.
The first edition
The festival's first edition was on 23 November 2024, also at Jorhat Stadium, with Joi Barua, Shankuraj Konwar, Jonqui, DJ Weather and Spreading Roots. The organisers say more than 10,000 people came. Shankuraj is the only name from that bill back for the second.
