Badshah And Shreya Ghoshal's 'Mahiya' Is Out, With Avneet Kaur In The Video
Badshah wrote and composed the romantic single, Hiten produced it, and Piyush-Shazia directed a video built around cars and a celestial backdrop.

"Mahiya", the single Badshah and Shreya Ghoshal announced with two teasers on his YouTube channel, came out on Wednesday, 4 November, with Avneet Kaur in the video. We reported the first teaser on 1 November, when no composer, lyricist or director had been named.
The credits are now clear. Badshah is credited as composer, lyricist and vocalist, going by the label's audio listing, which also names Hiten as producer and Hanish Taneja as mixing and mastering engineer. The audio runs 2 minutes 29 seconds. Piyush-Shazia directed the video, which a statement describes as set against "futuristic automotive aesthetics and glowing celestial backdrops".
The statement bills the single with the line "He is chaos, she is magic. This was never supposed to happen", and describes it as an upbeat romantic track that sets Badshah's urban groove against Ghoshal's voice.
What they said
Badshah linked the song to their time on the Indian Idol panel. "Everyone knows Shreyaji as the queen of romance, and our camaraderie on the Indian Idol set has always been incredible," he said in the statement. "But taking that energy into the studio for this track was an entirely different experience."

Ghoshal said that "collaborating on an actual song was long overdue". Kaur, who appears in the video, said she had grown up listening to Ghoshal's songs and followed Badshah's music for years.
Ghoshal's own next date is on the road: her Unstoppable tour opens its India leg in Bengaluru on 22 November, as we noted earlier. More new songs are on Hindi Songs.
